The Maruti Alto range, which comprises of the 800 variant and K10 variant, have both been updated with new safety features. This is for the first time that the Alto 800 with the updated safety features gets detailed in a new video. K10 got the new safety features earlier this month, which resulted in price hike of up to Rs 27k.

Following stringent safety norms, all cars on sale in India should sport Anti Lock Braking System, Electronic Brake Distribution, driver side airbags, speed alerts and rear parking sensors along with passenger and driver seat belt reminder.

2019 Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 VXI variant with these fully loaded safety features is detailed below in a video. The updated Alto is based on the same old platform. It is not the new generation Alto, which is based on the Heartect platform. New gen Alto is currently on test, and is expected to be launched by October 2019.

Apart from safety updates, updated Maruti Alto 800 also gets some exterior and interior changes. It sports a new bumper design, new blacked out front grille flanked by newly designed headlamps and new fog lamps. Changes to the sides include new black steel rims while updates at the rear show clear lens tail lamps and dual parking sensors integrated into the bumper.

Interiors also get updated with dual tone dashboard and door panels while the central console also sports a new design. The infotainment gets revised with a large dial in the center with standard infotainment that includes FM, Bluetooth, USB and AUX-IN.

The updated Maruti Alto 800 sees no change in engine specifications. It continues to be powered by a 796cc, 3 cylinder petrol engine offering 48 bhp power at 6,000 rpm and 69 Nm torque at 3,900 rpm. It is a BS4 engine. It will continue its rivalry against the Tata Tiago and Renault Kwid.
