Maruti Baleno Diesel Price Increased By Up To Rs 20k – RS By 12k

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has hiked prices of the Baleno diesel and RS variants. The prices now get increased by up to Rs 20,000 depending on variant. Baleno RS which was earlier priced at Rs.8.76 lakhs has been increased to Rs.8.88 lakhs.

The Baleno diesel range sees prices increased as per variants. The Baleno Sigma gets a price hike of Rs.12,300 from an earlier price of Rs.6.61,311 lakhs to Rs.6,73,611 lakhs. The Delta price has been increased by Rs.19,499 from an earlier price of Rs.7,32,122 lakhs to Rs.7,51,621 lakhs.

The prices of the Zeta and Alpha variants are increased by Rs.12,300 from Rs.8,00,621 to Rs.8,12,921 and from Rs.8,60,921 to Rs.8,73,221 respectively. No reasons for the price hike were given by Maruti Suzuki. The price hike comes a few days after the launch of BS6 petrol engine variants of Baleno. Diesel Baleno continues to be powered by BS4 compliant engine. Below are the detailed prices of Maruti Baleno diesel and RS effective from today.

The Baleno diesel engine is a 1.3 liter DDiS 190 engine offering 75.05 PS power at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm torque at 2,000 rpm mated to a 5 speed transmission delivering 27.39 kmpl fuel efficiency. Powering the 2019 Baleno RS is a 1.0 liter BoosterJet petrol engine offering 101 PS power at 5,500 rpm and 140 Nm torque at 1,700-4,500 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual transmission offering fuel efficiency of 21.1 kmpl. Both these engine are still BS4 compliant.

Speaking about the Baleno petrol 1.2 liter, it is now on offer in two options – one is equipped with SHVS, while the other is not. Both engines are BS6 compliant. Baleno petrol is the first Maruti car to get BS6 compliant engine. Baleno SHVS is more powerful, delivers 90 PS power and claims 23+ kmpl mileage. Baleno minus SUVS claims 21 kmpl, and delivers 83 hp power. Baleno SHVS is offered only in manual 5 speed option, while the non SHVS variant comes with manual as well as CVT option.

2019 Maruti Baleno gets a differently styled honeycomb grille, new bumper design, bolder likes, larger central airdam and new fog lamps. It also sports a silver bumper lip, side skirts and now sits on precision cut alloy wheels. Interiors get updated in terms of both comfort and safety features. It gets with remote keyless entry, start stop ignition buttons, electrically operated ORVMs, climate control, follow me home headlamps, etc. It also receives a new SmartPlay Studio infotainment system, which can be connected to three smartphones simultaneously and also supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Navigation.
