Maruti Baleno specs and variant details for India leaked

Maruti Baleno specs and variant details

The 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbocharged petrol engine that will be exported has been given a miss for the domestic market.

The specs and variant details of India-spec Maruti Baleno have been apparently leaked ahead of its launch on October 26. The premium hatchback will be retailed exclusively through Maruti Suzuki’s new Nexa premium dealership network alongside the S-Cross.

The car will be made in India for global consumption. The domestic market version is reported to be available with two familiar engine choices that are also found in the Swift. Sadly, the new 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbo petrol engine is not earmarked for India, at least as of now.

The 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine produces 84 PS and 115 Nm of torque while the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor will be available in its base 75 PS/190 Nm of tune. MSIL has clearly decided to play the price card instead of the performance card. It is also reported that the petrol mill will be available with an optional CVT in Delta variant.

The car measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,500 mm in height, 1,745 mm in width, 2,520 mm in wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 180 mm. The higher variants come shod with 195/55-R16 tyres.

The Baleno will be offered in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The base Sigma variant offers standard dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front power windows, central locking, tilt steering, LED taillights, front seat belt pretensioner with load limiter.

The car will be available in 7 exterior color options – Solid Fire Red, Premium Urban Blue, Metallic Premium Silver, Autumn Orange, Ray Blue, Pearl Arctic White and Granite Grey.

The Delta trim retains the features offered by Sigma in addition to offering rear wiper with defogger, automatic climate control, electrically foldable and adjustable ORVM, rear parking sensors, multifunction steering wheel, audio system with Bluetooth, 60:40 split rear seats, hub-caps, keyless entry and rear power windows.

Zeta trim adds anti-UV glass, telescopic steering, leather wrapped gear knob and steering wheel, daytime LED running lights, auto headlights with follow-me-home function, auto dimming IRVM, front foglights, keyless entry and go, alloy wheels and height adjustable driver seats.

The fully loaded Alpha variant comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera and projector headlights.
