Sales figures for February 2019 did not show positive results despite discounts and exchange schemes offered. Sales during the past month declined 0.8 percent with a total of 1,48,682 units sold as compared to 1,49,824 units sold in February 2018. This is not the first month of lower sales, but it has been ever since July 2018 that the company has been posting flat sales.
The period July 2018 to February 2019 saw 11.27 lakh units sold in domestic markets as against 11.30 lakh units sold in the same period of the previous year. In an effort to further boost sales figures, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, leading automakers in India, continues with its interesting range of discounts and offers for March 1-31, 2019. The new discount schemes and bonuses is an attempt to increase sales and is being offered on the Brezza, Celerio, Swift, DZire, WagonR, Alto and on the Omni.
Starting with the Omni, the discount scheme includes a Rs.5,000 consumer offer along with a Rs.15,000 exchange offer. These offers are also extended for corporate buyers at a discount of Rs.1,500-2,000 and central or state government employees at Rs.3,000. Maruti Eeco is presented with an exchange offer of Rs.10,000 while the Alto 800 gets a consumer discount of Rs.20,000 along with a Rs.20,000 exchange offer. The Alto K10 and AMT can also be had at a discount of Rs.15,000 and exchange offers of Rs.20,000 and Rs. 15,000 respectively. The newly launched WagonR is not a part of these discount schemes.
Maruti DZire diesel and petrol offerings are at a consumer discount of Rs.20,000 and Rs.10,000 respectively and a part of the exchange scheme. DZire Tour diesel is offered at consumer discount of Rs.20,000 along with an exchange scheme of the same amount while the petrol variant is only offered at a consumer discount of Rs.5,000 with no exchange scheme or any other benefits to corporate of central and state government employees.
New Maruti Swift diesel variant is presented with discount scheme of Rs.15,000 consumer discount and Rs.15,000 exchange bonus while the petrol variant gets a Rs.10,000 consumer discount and Rs.15,000 exchange bonus. Celerio variants come in with a Rs.25,000 consumer discount with exchange offers ranging from Rs.20,000-25,000 depending on variant and Rs.3,000 discounts to corporate, central and state government buyers. Lastly, the Maruti Brezza is also offered at a discount and exchange bonus of Rs.25,000 respectively with Rs.5,000 discounts offered to corporate buyers and central and state government employees.
