Maruti claims that Celerio CNG will offer a mileage of 31.79 kms/kg, making it one of the easiest car on your pocket, with a running cost of approximately Rs 1.20 per km. Sadly, no automatic manual transmission will be on offer with Celerio CNG, as it is only offered with manual 5 speed transmission. Power will be delivered by the same three cylinder 1.0l engine, but for the Celerio CNG, it will deliver 59 PS power, as against 68 PS power as delivered by petrol powered counterpart.
Available only in VXi trim, the Celerio CNG is named as Celerio Green. As has been the case with other Maruti cars which come with company fitted CNG option, Celerio too will have the same i-GPI system. Intelligent Gas Port Injection system is smooth and more efficient as compared to after market fitments on offer.
Though no AMT is on offer, the Celerio CNG is expected to be offered with AMT trim at a later stage. Maruti is already running short on AMT as the waiting period Celerio AMT has reached 7 months. Once they stabilize the AMT demand, you can expect the Celerio CNG in AMT variant as well.
