Maruti Celerio will come in with three variants – LXi, VXi and ZXi and each of these will be powered by the same engine as seen on board the A Star, a 1.0 liter, three cylinder engine producing 67 bhp at 6000 rpm and 9.1 kgm torque at 3500 rpm, mated to a five speed manual transmission. Maruti Celerio will also come in a new transmission, which is the AMT – Automated Manual Transmission. This version of Celerio will be called EZ Drive. Base variant is Celerio LXi. It will receive manual air conditioning and power steering while internal features will also include a 3 spoke steering wheel, low fuel warning lamp, door ajar warning lamp, tachometer and gear position indicators. VXi trim will include all the features of LXi but with additional features to include co driver vanity mirror, day time IRVM and rear luggage shelves besides central door locking facilities and power windows.
Top-end ZXi will include all features present in LXi and VXi and will be presented with body colored door handles, body colored outside mirrors and turn indicators on ORVMs. The top end model will also possess fog lamps, alloy wheels and full fabric door trims while driver seat can be adjusted. It will also sport tilt steering, keyless entry and electrically adjusted outside mirrors and ABS. Infotainment features abound on board the ZXi trim and will include audio with CD/USB/AUX-IN and Bluetooth. It will only be the LXi and ZXi which will receive AMT.
To offer a mileage of 23.1 kmpl, with AMT and manual transmission, Celerio bookings have already begun.
