Maruti Ciaz facelift 7 colours, 11 variants leaked – Petrol, diesel get SHVS hybrid

As the launch of the 2018 Ciaz draws closer, more details about the facelift have started surfacing. We have managed to get all the details regarding the variants and color options which will be offered on the car right from the launch. Read on, to find out more!

The 2018 Ciaz will continue with the variant nomenclature which all Nexa cars follow, which comprises of the Sigma, Delta, Zeta and the Alpha grades. The new 1.5 litre petrol engine (104 PS / 138 Nm) will come along with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed automatic transmission option as well, however, the automatic variant will miss out on the Sigma grade.

As reported last week, against the initial speculations, the diesel variant will also be launched along with the petrol engine option. This will be the same 1.3 liter option which is on offer with current Ciaz. However it will feature the traditional 5-speed manual gearbox only and no automatic transmission option will be available. As a segment-first initiative, both, the diesel and petrol engines will come mapped with smart hybrid systems – SHVS.

Thanks to SHVS, both petrol and diesel engine options will claim best in class mileage. Petrol claims expected at 21+ kmpl while diesel claims at 27+ kmpl. Exact figures to be revealed at launch.

The color options on offer will be similar to the ones on the pre-facelift Ciaz. The color options are: Nexa Blue, Metallic Premium Silver, Pearl Midnight Black, Metallic Magma Grey, Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown, Pearl Sangria Red and Pearl Snow White. We aren’t sure if the minor change in names are just a marketing exercise or will it result in a different shade of colors.

The owners of the 2018 Ciaz will also have an option to use the Suzuki Connect app, which is an advanced telematics solution and can support features like Vehicle Tracking, Driving Behaviour Analysis, Live Vehicle Status and a lot more. The technology is similar to the one offered by Honda Connect and Mahindra’s EcoSense and With You Hamesha.

Features on offer will be same as current variants, and some more. New Ciaz will get cruise control, Smartplay infotainment touchscreen system compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It does not get sunroof. Dashboard now features faux wood inlays to give the car a premium look.

The official launch of the sedan is due on 20th August, 2018 and in case you are interested you can head out to any one of the 319 Nexa outlets across India and make a booking by paying an amount of Rs 11,000.
