Maruti Ciaz launch in second half of September 2014

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan to launch by second half September 2014. It will be seen as a keen competitor to Honda City and Hyundai Verna besides the VW Vento, Fiat Linea, Nissan Sunny and Renault Scala. Pricing is also promising to be on par at around INR 7.5 lakhs onwards to INR 11 lakhs. The SX4 replacement will be seen with a brand new design and will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options.

Smart in design and built as a sedan from the ground up, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will also be launched in China, where it will be called as Suzuki Alivio sedan. Sharper, slimmer and well proportioned as compared to its SX4 counterpart, the Ciaz will be seen in an innovative design while interiors will sport dual tone color scheme with chrome inserts giving the Ciaz an upmarket stance.

To be offered in three variants – Vxi/Vdi, Vxi+/Vdi+ and Zxi/Zdi, all Ciaz variants will sport a host of safety and infotainment updates to include steering mounted audio controls, electric OEVMs and AC vents besides 5” display, reverse parking camera, ABS, climate controls and additional airbags. Ciaz will be offered in colors of Pearl Metallic Arctic White, Midnight Black, Silky Silver, Glistening Grey, Clear Beige, Chocolate Brown and Fire Brick Red.

Engine options on offer include 1.4l petrol generating 95 PS power and 130 Nm torque, claiming mileage of 18.2 kmpl. A 1.3l DDiS diesel engine generating 90 PS and 200 Nm torque will also be on offer, claiming mileage of 22.4 kmpl. Both will be mated to a As seen in the images earlier, Maruti has already begun series production of Ciaz at their plant in Manesar. Ciaz will be Maruti’s second car launch of the year, first being Celerio hatchback.
