Maruti Ciaz mileage, techspecs, features and bookings

Boasting of exteriors which arguably makes Ciaz the most stylish car to come from Maruti Suzuki India. Ciaz will sit on 16″ alloy wheels and will receive well designed elements on bumpers to include large headlamps, a chrome grille and a hint of chrome in its boot lid. Cabin interiors are spacious and done up in colours that add a plush look while dashboard is dominated by dark wood inserts around the stereo, large touchscreen along with climate control system and steering wheel. Other features include ABS and front two airbags besides keyless entry and start, rear AC vents, central rear armrest, cup holders and retractable blind for rear wind screen. These outstanding features ensure that the soon to be launched Ciaz stands out as best in class equipment and features.

Where dimensions of the Maruti Ciaz are concerned, they are larger than competitors as the Ciaz sits on a wheelbase measuring 2,650mm as against the Honda City wheelbase of 2,600mm and the Hyundai Verna wheelbase of 2,570mm. Maruti Ciaz is 4,490mm in length, longer than the City and Verna by 50mm and 120mm respectively. Width of Ciaz stands at 1,730mm, 35mm wider than Honda City, 31mm wider than Vento and 30mm wider than Hyundai Verna. The Ciaz also stands 1,485mm in height, again higher than Vento and Verna but slightly shorter than the Honda City.

Similar to the outgoing Maruti SX4, Ciaz will be powered by petrol and diesel engine options. Diesel engine will be in the form of a 1.3 liter diesel engine offering 90 PS peak power and mated to a 5 speed manual, with a claimed mileage of 26.21 kmpl (DDiS 200 diesel engine). Petrol engine will be a 1.4 liter K Series engine (K14 VVT engine) promising high fuel efficiency of 20.73 kmpl mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. A 4 speed auto will also be on offer, with only petrol engine option.

To be launched by the end of September, Maruti Ciaz which will come in a choice of four variants VXi, VXi+, ZXi, and ZXi+ and VDi, VDi+, ZDi and ZDi+ will come in a price range of INR 7.5-10 lakhs. Maruti Suzuki has opens its order book for Ciaz mid-sized premium sedan officially from 3rd Sept 2014. Bookings were encouraged at a dealership last weekend too. Global launch of Ciaz is planned during the forthcoming festival season, and will be launched in 4 trim levels (V, V+, Z and Z+). Bookings are being accepted for a token advance amount of Rs 21,000.
