Offered only with the top of the line Ciaz ZXi+ and ZDi+, Maruti Ciaz RS is a sporty looking variant of the Ciaz sedan. The petrol variant is priced from INR 9.20 lakh, while the diesel variant is priced from INR 10.28 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, New-Delhi prices.

Spied on test earlier this year, Maruti Suzuki has been aiming to topple Honda City from its No 1 position in the segment. The new Honda City which was first launched in January 2014, has been registering sales in the range of 7,000 – 8,000 units on average every month since launch.
On the other hand, Maruti Ciaz, which was launched in October last year, has been steadily increasing its market share in the segment. Starting from 3,000-3,500 average monthly sales, Ciaz sales have averaged above 5,000 units for the past two months.
The boost in sales was seen especially in the last two months because of the updated diesel Ciaz with SHVS technology. Claiming a mileage of 28.09 kmpl, Ciaz SHVS is the most fuel efficient car in the country today.
Speaking about the new Maruti Ciaz RS, this is yet another attempt from India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki to capture more sales during the upcoming festive season.
Looking more sporty and attractive as compared to the standard Maruti Ciaz, the RS trim only features cosmetic upgrade, as everything under the hood remains unchanged.
These changes include – front bumper mounted lip, boot-lid mounted spoiler, and side skirts. On the inside, the cabin now gets the much awaited all-black treatment. Adding to the premiumness on the inside is the brushed silver finish seen on the instrument cluster.
Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki, Mr R S Kalsi said – “For customers who love Ciaz and want something even more distinctive and stylish, Ciaz RS is irresistible.”
Power to the Maruti Ciaz RS ZXi+ comes from a 1.4 liter petrol engine generating 95 PS at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm at 4,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a five speed gearbox, driving front wheels. Mileage claimed by this engine is 20.73 kmpl.
The Ciaz RS ZDi+ is powered by 1.3 liter diesel with SHVS technology. This engine delivers 90 PS power and 200 Nm torque. This one also gets five speed MT which drives the front wheels. Mileage claimed by this engine is 28.03 kmpl.
Equipment and features list remains unchanged.
