To be offered in a choice of six variants, three in petrol and three in diesel, the new Maruti Ciaz sedan will replace the non-performing Maruti SX4 sedan. The petrol variants will be named VXi, VXi+, and ZXi, while the diesel variants will be called VDi, VDi+ and ZDi. Petrol engine will be in the form of a 1.4l K14B engine generating 95 PS and 130 Nm torque, while diesel will be Fiat sourced 1.3l MultiJet generating 90 PS and 200 Nm torque. Reported mileage figures for petrol Ciaz is at 18.2 kmpl, while that for diesel variant is 22.4 kmpl.
Unlike other Maruti cars, Ciaz won’t have the traditional LXi or LDi variant as the base variant. This is because Maruti Suzuki is going to launch Ciaz as a premium sedan. To be offered with premium features like driver arm-rest, in car entertainment system with six speakers, electric ORVM, rear AC vents, central locking via remote, auto lock doors with speed sensors, adjustable steering wheel, power windows, rear defogger, and dead pedal as standard across all variants.
On the VXi+/VDi+ variants, in addition to the above variants, you will have reverse parking cameras, airbags, driver seat height adjustable, steering mounted audio controls, and front fog lamps. In the top end variants – ZXi/ZDi, Maruti Ciaz will come with airbags, push button start/stop, 5 inch colour screen, auto dimming inside rear view mirror, optical park assist, premium material for seats, climate control, and 16 inch alloys in addition to the above features.
