Spied in Madhavpur (Porbandar district), the Ciaz was first shown as a concept during 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, and later as a near production ready format as Suzuki Alivio at 2014 Beijing Motor Show, the car is now finally ready for India launch. Production has already begun in full swing, as suggested by spy images from Manesar plant.
Talking about the latest images, these were spied while the car was being filmed for its upcoming ad. On location was Ranveer Singh, young Bollywood actor who is famous for his move Ram Leela. His presence Madhavpur, which is one of the most popular beaches in Gujarat, spread like wild fire and got the attention of scores of people in the area and in surrounding villages.
Seen in the images here, Ranveer sports a look of a smart and well dressed young achiever. It seems like the SX4, Maruti is once again concentrating on the ‘Men Are Back’ kind of theme with new Ciaz ad.
Inspired by the Suzuki Authentics concept, Ciaz sedan is slated for launch sometime by end of September or early October but definitely ahead of the festive season in the country. To be offered in three petrol and three diesel engine options, Ciaz petrol variants will be named as VXi, VXi+ and ZXi, while their diesel counterparts will be named VDi, VDi+ and ZDi.
Borrowing engine specs as seen on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Ciaz will be powered by a 1.4 liter K Series petrol offering 94 bhp peak power and 130 Nm peak torque. It will also receive a 1.3 liter DDIS diesel engine producing 89 bhp power and 200 Nm torque.
To be priced in the range of Rs 7.5 to 10 lakhs, new Maruti Ciaz will challenge Honda City and Hyundai Verna once launched.
