Maruti discounts in May 2020 – Alto, Dzire, WagonR, Celerio, Eeco

Maruti Suzuki offers the discount benefits for select BS6 and BS4 products (including its ‘Tour’ models)

The Indian automotive industry has been going through tough times like never before due to COVID-19 and the government’s lockdown protocols. Domestic sales in April 2020 hit zero except for a few units sold online. To minimise losses in this struggling period, major automakers have created online sales platforms with introductory offers.

Experts predict that the automotive market will go through a significant change even after COVID-19 leaves the planet. The entire scenario of buying a new vehicle could change while online or ‘socially distanced’ sales become a part of the ‘new normals’. Customers would have the option to book, test drive and get a new car delivered at their doorsteps in a clean and sanitised environment — read more details.

Meanwhile, R.C. Bhargava, Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL), believes that automotive sales would be boosted after the COVID-19 crisis as buyers would be more inclined to personal vehicles over public transport (which has apparently become unsafe).

A similar trend is being observed in China, the epicentre of SARS-Cov-2. For this month, Maruti Suzuki has introduced discounts up to Rs 25,000 for various BS6 and BS4 products. Hat tip to Motor Arena India for sharing the discount details.
