Maruti Suzuki Eeco is now BS6 compliant. Eeco people carrier is the 9th BSVI vehicle launched by MSIL ahead of the Government stipulated timeline, April 1, 2020. Through 2019, Eeco wholesales were reported at 1 lakh units, A first for the vehicle, sales growth stood at 36 percent over 2018 wholesales.
Maruti Suzuki Eeco was launched in January 2010, and has surpassed the 6.5 lakh unit sales mark over the last decade. Eeco functions in a segment where it dominates with 87 percent market share. Maruti Eeco BS6 functions as a personal commuter transport vehicle and for business carrier purpose.
BS6 Maruti Suzuki Eeco is available in 12 variants. They include 5-seater, 7-seater, cargo and ambulance options. Convenience features include reclining seats, clear headlamps, CNG changeover switch, multi-trip meter, and headlamp levelling.
BS6 Eeco continues to feature sliding doors for ease of entry and exit. For specific business requirements, Eeco could be regarded spacious enough to carry load. Since, it’s essentially indoor carriage this could be an option when indoor transportation is a necessary.
2020 Maruti Eeco BS6 features a driver airbag, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, driver and co-driver seat belt reminder, and high speed alert system. Eeco gets power from a 1.2L petrol BSVI engine that delivers max power of 73 PS @ 6000 rpm, and 98 Nm @ 3000 rpm of torque. Fuel efficiency is pegged at 16.11km/l. Eeco is also offered with S-CNG technology along with the petrol variant. Mauti Suzuki Eeco BSVI is available at a starting price of Rs. 380,800/- (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Eeco continues to attract 84 percent pre-determined buyers. With over 50 percent buyers picking Eeco for business utility, MSIL is confident about its continued strong positioning in the segment.
As the Eeco’s journey progresses, the company shares just how they’ve gotten this far. The first lakh units were sold by FY22-12. The 2 lakh unit mark was reached in FY13-14. Cargo petrol variant was launched in FY14-15. In FY15-16, 3 lakh units were reported sold, During FY16-17, Eeco Minor was launched. It was during this period that the company reported 4 lakh units sold. Through FY18-19, the company celebrated the sale of 5 lakh units.
