Maruti has updated the Eeco MPV in India with new safety features, in view of the safety regulations made mandatory by Govt of India. 2019 Eeco now gets drivers airbag, driver and co-driver seat belt reminder, reverse parking sensors, speed alert system along with ABS and EBD.
2019 Maruti Eeco with these new safety features sees a marginal revision of price. With an increase of Rs.23,000 over older Eeco’s figures, it puts the new Maruti Eeco in a price bracket of Rs.3.55-6.54 lakhs.
The new safety features are to be implemented on all cars on sale in the country. This will go a long way in helping increase car safety and bring down fatality ratio in road accidents.
Maruti Suzuki Eeco was launched in 2010. It is an affordable people mover, mostly used as a cab, for last mile connectivity. It is offered in 5 and 7 seater options. Seating can be modified as per customer’s demand. Apart from being sold as a passenger vehicle, it is also sold as a cargo carrier or as an ambulance.
Maruti Suzuki Eeco is powered by petrol and CNG options. It gets a 1.2 liter, 4 cylinder petrol engine offering 73 PS power and 101 Nm torque offering fuel efficiency of 16.2 kmpl. The CNG version gets an engine producing 62.54 PS at 6,000 rpm and 83 Nm torque at 3,000 rpm and is capable of fuel efficiency of 21.8 km/kg.
Maruti Eeco registers about 7,000 unit sales every month. But with its cousin Omni now discontinued, there is more demand for Eeco than ever before. Together, Eeco and Omni used to deliver about 15,000 sales every month. Eeco sales stood at 9,893 units for March 2019. It has now become the 10th best selling car in the country.
