With the introduction of BSVI compliant Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (Petrol), the brand has also announced a price increase across petrol variants. Revised ex- showroom price in Delhi and NCR of BSVI compliant Ertiga (Petrol) is in the range of Rs. 7,54,689/- to Rs. 10,05,689/-. The price hike is effective from today, i.e., 30th July, 2019.
Maruti Ertiga BS6 petrol continues to get power from a 1.5-litre K15-series petrol engine with SHVS (mild-hybrid) technology. The engine returns max power of 104bhp and 138Nm of peak torque.
It’s available with the option of a five-speed manual or a four-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. Apart from the compliance upgrade, which has resulted in a price increase of about 10k across variants, there are no other changes implemented.
While the market continues to battle with slow sales momentum, MSIL hasn’t been dawdling. The manufacturer is periodically introducing BSVI compliant models so as to ensure a smooth transition within deadline, i.e., March 31, 2020. This includes Baleno, Alto, Dzire, Swift, WagonR, and now Ertiga petrol.
When it comes to the Ertiga MPV, despite Maruti losing sales volume for most of its vehicles across segments, Ertiga MPV sales have remained defiant in the face of a slowdown. Being a MPV, its utility is attractive to a wide group of buyers. Though not the brand’s highest volume product, it’s sales graph looks positive at a time all else has been plummeting.
A couple of days earlier, Maruti Suzuki India announced its factory-fitted CNG-powered Ertiga available in the VXI variant. With mileage listed at 26.20 km/kg, proposes a cost per km value. And is available in the taxi, and passenger segment. Based on VXi trim, Ertiga CNG costs about 55k more than the regular Ertiga.
Ertiga Tour M CNG is available at a price of Rs. 8,82,689 (ex-sh Delhi and NCR), and Ertiga CNG is available at a price of Rs. 8,87,689. In the MPV segment, MSIL Ertiga is the only vehicle to now be offered with a factory-fitted CNG kit, and also has BSVI compliant variants.
Since launch in Nov 2018, Maruti Ertiga has registered sales of over 61,300 units, at a staggering growth rate of 60%, in these troubled times. In order to boost sales further, Maruti will soon launch Ertiga based XL6 MPV via NEXA. Maruti XL6 is a premium offering, with captain seats like Innova in the middle row. Launch is on 21st Aug.
