Although its India launch is not certain, XL7 MPV has been officially launched by Suzuki in Indonesia
XL7 is essentially a 7-seat variant of Maruti Ertiga XL6, which was launched in India in August 2019. Being marketed as an SUV, Suzuki XL7 comes with a rugged-looking, bold profile, as evident in its masculine front fascia, prominent bonnet, chrome accent on front grille, LED reflector headlamps and large front and rear bumpers. Rear section also looks stunning with uniquely shaped rear combinations lamps and LED tail lights.
Interiors are just as exciting with every inch designed to enhance driving pleasure. XL7 interiors look sporty and well-crafted and there’s ample space for all passengers. Things that immediately grab your attention include the carbon-fibre patterned material and red, silver painted accents. Below is the new TVC video shared by Suzuki.
Key interior features include D-shaped steering wheel, informative meter cluster, large touchscreen infotainment system, keyless start / stop, rear air conditioner, sliding second row, front row armrest with storage, second row armrest and smartphone holder, and ventilated cup holders.
Suzuki XL7 measures 4,450 mm in length, 1,775 mm in width, 1,710 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,740 mm. Its large proportions ensure that there’s plenty of legroom, elbowroom and headroom for all three rows. Boot space is also decent at 199 litres, which can be increased by folding the third row seats.
Featuring an aerodynamic design, Suzuki XL7 can effortlessly slice through the wind. The MPV is designed to provide responsive drivability and comfortable, smooth rides for even the longest journeys. Powering XL7 is Suzuki’s 1.5L K15B petrol engine, which generates max power of 104 bhp and max torque of 138 Nm. Engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter unit. In India, this engine also does duty on Brezza, Ertiga, XL6 and Ciaz.
XL7 will come with smart-hybrid SHVS option, which improves performance, boosts fuel efficiency and reduces emissions. In India, SHVS is offered with Ciaz, Ertiga, XL6, Baleno, Brezza and S-Cross. Key components of SHVS system include torque assist that boosts acceleration and brake energy regeneration system for converting kinetic energy into electric energy. XL7’s performance is also boosted by the lightweight Heartect platform.
Suzuki XL7 is equipped with SRS airbags, reverse parking sensors, electronic stability program (ESP), ABS with EBD, immobilizer, and security alarm. XL7’s body utilizes advanced TECT (total effective control technology), which offers improved protection in case of a collision. XL7 is also equipped with pedestrian safety features that minimize leg and head injuries in the event of a collision.
