Regular diesel variants are expected to be replaced by SHVS Hybrid variants like in the Ciaz.

A fully disguised Maruti Ertiga facelift has been spotted testing in the NCR once again. The updated MPV which was unveiled at the GIIAS 2015 last month at Jakarta is expected to be launched in India in October, right in time to take advantage of the festive season.

Earlier media reports suggest that Maruti will introduce the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) Hybrid system in the new Ertiga. It’s to be noted that the compact people mover employs the same diesel engine as the Ciaz SHVS Hybrid.

Maruti Ertiga facelift is likely to receive the SHVS Hybrid technology.

In the Ciaz, the system managed to achieve an improvement in mileage of nearly 2 kmpl and we expect the Ertiga SHVS Hybrid to register a similar improvement. The system incorporates an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) to the engine. The ISG is capable of providing torque assistance to the engine during acceleration, regenerate power during braking and also facilitate engine start stop function under traffic conditions. The system is supported by a high capacity battery.

The DDiS 200 1.3-litre diesel engine would continue to develop 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. The 5-speed manual transmission stays the same as well.
