At a gala event in Delhi this afternoon, Maruti Suzuki launched the second generation Ertiga MPV. This also marks the end of first generation Ertiga MPV, which had made its debut. Interestingly, prices of Ertiga petrol have been hiked by as much as Rs 1.1 lakhs, while that of the Ertiga diesel have been hiked by as much as Rs 44k.
Some Maruti Arena dealers still have the stick of old Ertiga, which they are selling at discounts of up to Rs 1 lakhs. So if you are in the market to get a family MPV, you can get a good deal on the old Ertiga.
Hike in petrol Ertiga is higher because it not only gets SHVS mild hybrid, but also gets a completely new engine. Diesel Ertiga on the other hand, gets the same old engine and SHVS system. But the SHVS system has been updated to dual battery setup. Both variants get added features list which include projector headlamps, touchscreen infotainment system, more space for second and third row passengers, bigger boot space, etc.
The highest price change is noticed in the entry level variant of Ertiga. Older Ertiga petrol variant prices started from Rs 6.34 lakhs and went all the way to Rs 8.85 lakhs. New Ertiga petrol prices start from Rs 7.44 lakhs and go all the way to Rs 9.5 lakhs. Older Ertiga petrol only offered AT option on the VXI trim, while the new Ertiga offers AT on both VXI as well as ZXI. Below are the detailed prices of old and new Ertiga.
