The older generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is being offered at company dealerships at a discount upto Rs. 1.1 lakhs. This offer is exclusively on the old Ertiga and being extended to customers so as to clear out stocks.
Maruti Ertiga was launched in 2012 and this marked company’s entry into the MPV segment. It was offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engines. The company then updated the Ertiga in 2015 with several feature updates, a new top level variant and new infotainment system while a diesel engine with SHVS mild hybrid technology was also added. Last year, a new gen variant was launched, which updated the car inside and out.
These discounts are being offered by Maruti Suzuki Arena dealers who have been left with piling stocks of the older generation Ertiga. Discounts as high as Rs.1.1 lakhs are offered on the Ertiga diesel while the petrol variants with 1.4 liter K14 engines are on offer with benefits upto Rs.53,000. The Ertiga CNG variant gets a Rs.28,000 discount.
The second generation Maruti Ertiga was launched in India late last year, just ahead of the festive season. It is priced from Rs.7.44 lakhs for the base LXi petrol variant, going up to Rs.10.90 lakhs for the top of the line ZXi diesel offering. The new Ertiga comes with considerable updates, which is what has resulted in old Ertiga finding no buyers, in spite of such huge discounts being offered.
The new Ertiga MPV is based on a new and lighter platform along with a fresh design language and boasts of increased dimensions. Better features and more cabin space is also seen on the updated version while its engine lineup is more fuel efficient and offers better performance which is why prices have also been increased marginally.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga gets its power via a 1462cc, 4 cylinder K15 Smart Hybrid petrol engine offering 105 hp power at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm torque at 4,400 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual transmission or 4 speed automatic. It also gets a 1,248cc, 4 cylinder, DDiS Smart Hybrid diesel engine capable of 90 hp power at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm torque at 1,750 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. Soon it will get a new 1.5 liter diesel engine, which will replace the current 1.3 liter diesel engine.
