Maruti Suzuki Fronx gets a swanky-looking new Bluish Black monotone colour, which adds a touch of sophistication
Fronx is one of the hottest products in India currently. Maruti Suzuki recently announced prices for its coupe crossover. Fronx costs between Rs. 7.46 lakh and Rs. 13.13 lakh (ex-sh, introductory). Maruti Suzuki commenced deliveries for the same. First batch of buyers will take home their handsome new Fronx coupe crossover.
Where Maruti Suzuki cars are concerned, Fronx is by far the best looking. It is far more appealing than the Baleno it is based on. The faux roof rails makes it look taller and body cladding reduces the visual bulk. Both of these combined, lend athleticism to Fronx. Pièce de résistance is surely the sloping coupe roofline.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Deliveries – First batch owners
There is a new Black colour as well. Nexa Blue, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red and Splendid Silver are its monotone shades. Maruti offered a dual-tone roof option with Bluish Black roof with Red, Brown and Silver shades. Fronx never got Bluish Black as a base colour, until now. Also, Arctic White and Nexa Blue with Bluish Black roof are given a miss.
Design is surely the main draw for Fronx. That said, the 1.0L BoosterJet turbo petrol engine is likely to excite enthusiasts as well. This three-pot banger generates 100 PS of power at 5500 RPM and 147.6 Nm of torque between 2000 RPM and 4500 RPM.
In comparison, the 4-cylinder 1.2L K12 engine develops 90 PS of power at 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of torque at 4400 RPM. Both engines get a 5-speed manual gearbox option. When it comes to automatic transmission, 1.2L K12 is coupled with a 5-speed AMT and 1.0L Boosterjet is equipped with a 6-speed torque converter.
Considering that Fronx is the spiritual successor of Baleno RS, Maruti Suzuki should have offered rear disc brakes. While at it, buyers would appreciate fatter tyres wrapping its 16” alloys as well. Fronx is launched in five trim levels Sigma, Delta, Delta Plus, Zeta and Alpha.
Feature-loaded coupe crossover
Maruti Suzuki is offering most of the features that Beleno gets. Fronx-specific elements include body cladding, different front fascia, sportier alloys, roof rails, wide and connected LED tail lights and more. Maruti Suzuki hopes Baleno to score well in upcoming crash tests. Same attributes should hold good with Fronx as well.
Depending on trim level, Fronx gets a HUD, 360-degree camera, ESP, hill hold assist, 6 airbags, all 3-point seat belts, ISOFIX child seats, auto-dimming IRVM, immobiliser are some of the safety features. Other than that, Fronx gets a 9” touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charger, LED headlights, tail lights, DRLs, cruise control, rear AC vents, and many more. Some people might complain about the lack of a sunroof. In Maruti Suzuki’s product lineup, it slots between Baleno and Brezza. Rivals include Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and others.
