Maruti Fronx comes with a 1.2 liter NA petrol and 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options
Maruti Suzuki India Limited had showcased the Fronx crossover SUV at 2023 Auto Expo in January. It will be launched later this month. Ahead of that, Maruti has revealed one of the biggest questions their customers have had – Fronx Kitna Deti Hain?

Maruti Suzuki Fronx is powered by a 1.2 liter DualJet VVT petrol engine making 90 PS power and 113 Nm torque. It also gets the option of a 1.0 liter turbo-charged BoosterJet petrol engine making 100 PS power and 147.6 Nm torque.
Transmission options will include 5 MT or AMT for the 1.2 motor, while the 1.0 turbo motor will get option of 5 MT or 6 AT. Maruti Fronx 1.2 liter petrol engine will offer 21.79km/l in manual transmission going up to 22.89km/l for AMT. The Fronx 1.0 turbo petrol MT will offer 21.5 km/l while in automatic transmission fuel efficiency will stand at 20.01 km/l.
Speaking about kerb weight of Maruti Fronx, it stands at 1015 kg to 1030 kg for the manual 1.0 variants and 1055 kg to 1060 kg for the automatic 1.0 variants. Fronx 1.2 manual variants have a kerb wt of 965 kg to 970 kg while that of the AMT version is 975 kg. Gross wt is at 1480 kg for petrol 1.0 Fronx and 1450 kg for petrol 1.2 Fronx.
Variant Details – Fronx NA and Fronx Turbo
The 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine will make its way onto the Fronx Delta+, Zeta and Alpha trims with manual gearbox. It will only be the top spec Zeta and Alpha trims that will receive 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The 1.2 liter petrol engine with manual gearbox is offered on the Fronx Sigma, Delta and Delta+ variants while the Delta and Delta+ can also be had with an AMT gearbox option. Maruti Suzuki is also set to introduce a CNG version of the Fronx sub-compact SUV some time later this year.
Fronx will be presented in five variants of Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta and Alpha and in 9 colour options. These will include 5 monotones of Earthen Brown, Arctic White, Opulent Red, Grandeur Grey and Splendid Silver and 3 dual tones of Earthen Brown with Bluish Black roof, Opulent Red with Bluish Black roof, Splendid Silver with Bluish Black roof.
Launch Date, Price, Competition
Maruti Suzuki will officially launch the new Fronx in mid April. It will be sold via the company’s NEXA showrooms. While there have been no price indications as on date, it is slated to be offered in a price range from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 11 lakh (ex-sh). Once launched, the new Maruti Fronx will take on the likes of Citroen C3, Tata Punch, etc.
