With the auto industry in a slow down mode, automakers are making desperate attempts to boost sales by offering hefty discounts, exchange schemes and corporate benefits. The Maruti Suzuki exclusive dealership – NEXA is offering special deals on all models sold through these outlets, among which are the Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz and S-Cross.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis, the tallboy hatchback, which recently crossed the 1 lakh sales milestone, is the most affordable offering that retails out of its premium Nexa network. Discount on this model extends to Rs. 20,000 cash discount along with a Rs.25,000 exchange bonus and a corporate bonus of Rs.5,000.
Maruti Baleno registered a 12.55 percent dip in sales in May 2019 to 15,176 units as against 17,355 units sold in April 2019. The entry level premium hatchback, which holds a 27 percent share in the segment, is being presented at an exchange bonus of Rs.15,000 and Rs.5,000 corporate discount.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz – Sigma, Delta, Zeta manual variants are being offered at a Rs.15,000 cash discount and Rs.35,000 exchange bonus. Maruti and its dealers are getting rid of the existing stock as the BS6 variants are getting launched soon.
The company has commenced road tests of the BS IV compliant Ciaz. The car was also spotted with a Smart Hybrid badging on its boot lid indicating that the mild hybrid set up will continue to be on sale as is seen on its current counterpart. This exchange scheme extends to Rs.35,000 on the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Automatic and on the Alpha manual variants.
Maruti S-Cross, NEXA’s flagship product, and the most expensive crossover from Maruti’s stable, is offered through the month of June 2019 with cash discounts upto Rs.20,000 and exchange bonus of Rs.35,000. The sales of Maruti Suzuki S-Cross dipped as much as 67 percent in May 2019 to 1,507 units as compared to sales of 4,610 units in May 2018. This was the lowest sales registered for the S-Cross in over 2 years.
The S-Cross petrol is poised for launch while the K15B smart hybrid petrol engine which recently made its way onto the Ciaz and new generation Ertiga is also under consideration. Maruti Suzuki India Limited has plans to help it bounce back from declining sales. This includes launching new cars like the Alto new gen.
