Maruti Ritz is one of the top neglected cars in the country. Despite its solid build quality, refined and acclaimed engine and great value for money quotient, the car is overshadowed by Maruti Swift and other cars in the segment.
With at least 8 new launches this year, Maruti Suzuki cannot afford to have its showrooms all cramped up, and is believed to be working on sweeping some of its dull selling models under the rug. Thus far, Maruti Ritz is reckoned to be the prime candidate to be thrown out, especially since a new product around the same segment is waiting to join the portfolio, codenamed Maruti YRA.
As of now Maruti Swift is the most expensive hatchback in Maruti Suzuki’s lineup, with Ritz in second spot. When Maruti YRA premium hatchback hits showrooms, Swift will be dethroned to Ritz’s spot and YRA will take charge as the flagship B-segment hatchback of Maruti in the country.
This could happen as early as next month – May, 2015. And by the way, this actually contradicts an earlier media report that said 2015 Maruti Ritz facelift is underway for December, 2015 launch.
