
Maruti Sales were up 37% on a YoY basis with the Baleno emerging as the new leader with a huge jump in demand
Maruti Suzuki, the No. 1 selling automaker in India with a 44% market share, ended the calendar year 2025 on a promising note. Sales went up by 37% YoY while it was also a 4% improvement on a MoM basis. Total sales in Dec 2025 stood at 1,78,646 units, up from 1,30,115 units sold in Dec 2024. There were 1,70,971 unit sales in Nov 2025.
Maruti Sales Breakup – Dec 2025
Maruti Baleno was the company’s highest selling model last month. In fact, it was the Baleno that emerged as the highest selling car in the country. Baleno sales went up to 22,108 units last month, a hefty 143% hike over 9,112 units on a YoY basis. Sales were also higher by 60% from 13,784 units of Nov 2025. In a 2nd position was the Fronx with 20,706 units sold, a 93% YoY and 38% MoM growth from 10,752 units and 15,058 units of Dec 2024 and Nov 2025 respectively.

Dzire and Swift, two veritable top sellers in earlier months fell to No. 3 and 4 on the sales list of Dec 2025. Dzire sales ended positively with 19,072 units, a 15% YoY growth over 16,573 units while it was a 10% MoM decline from 21,082 units of the previous month. There were 18,767 units of the Swift hatchback sold last month which was an 80% YoY growth though sales declined 5% on a MoM basis.
Brezza sales improved at 17,704 units up by 2% from 17,336 units of Dec 2024. MoM sales were higher by 27% over 13,947 units. There was also higher demand for the Ertiga with 16,586 units sold last month, growing 3% YoY and 2% MoM. On the other hand, Maruti WagonR was in lower demand. Sales went down by 16% YoY to 14,575 units while MoM sales ended flat. There was also a marginal increase in sales of the Eeco van at 11,899 units, a 2% YoY growth though MoM sales dipped by 10%.

Maruti Sales – Alto, G Vitara, Victoris, S Presso
Lower down the sales order were the Alto, G Vitara, Victoris and S Presso. Alto sales improved by 46% YoY and 2% MoM to 10,829 units. There were 8,597 units of the G Vitara sold last month, a 21% improvement over 7,093 units of Dec 2024 while MoM sales dipped by 24% over 11,339 units sold in Nov 2025. The relatively new Victoris, that ended Nov 2025 with 12,300 unit sales, suffered a steep decline to 6,210 units in Dec 2025.
There was growing demand for the S Presso with sales up at 3,396 units, a 42350% rise over just 8 unit sales of Dec 2024. MoM sales also nearly doubled over 1,747 units sold in Nov 2025. Positive growth was seen in the case of the XL6 at 2,744 units, Celerio with 2,272 units and Ignis at 1,910 units through Dec 2025. Jimny had 757 units sold last month while there were 516 units of the Invicto, both of which displayed significantly lower YoY demand.
