(Maruti) Suzuki Celerio Sport Edition – 2017 Bangkok Motor Show

One of the most successful small cars to be launched in recent years, Maruti Suzuki Celerio has received a new Sport Edition, which is now on display at the ongoing 2017 Bangkok Motor Show.

At the ongoing 2017 Bangkok Motor Show, Maruti Suzuki Celerio Sport Edition is on display. Seen in white exterior paint, the Celerio Sport also gets red accents on the body, as well as a matte black finish on the roof. Overall, the car looks much sportier and attractive than the standard Celerio on offer today.

First launched in India back in February 2014 at Delhi Auto Expo, Maruti Celerio is among the top 10 selling cars in the country today. First car to be offered with Auto Gear Shift technology (AMT gearbox), Celerio launch increased Maruti Suzuki’s share in the small car industry from 61% to 71% in India.

Speaking about the Celerio Sport Edition, in the front it gets red accents on the bonnet lip as well as under the fog lights. The sides too have red and black decals with Celerio letters. From the headlight, and onto the doors, you can see black decals while the B and C pillars get black matte treatment, and so does the door handles and roof.

Launched only in petrol variant at first, diesel and CNG fuel options were also launched later; and in two transmission options of manual and auto gear shift (only petrol). Priced in the range of INR 3.9 lakhs to 5.71 lakhs, the surprising part is the fact that over one third of sales comes from the AMT variant. With 1 lakh sales already achieved, the company is now aiming to achieve 2 lakh sales in an even shorter period.

In Thailand, the Celerio is sold only with a 1.0 liter petrol engine option mated to either a five speed manual or an automatic transmission.
