Bookings of Maruti Suzuki Celerio ZXi AMT are now opened with deliveries set to commence in the next 10 days. Based on the existing ZXi model, Celerio ZXi AMT receives all features of ZXi, but does not receive anti-lock braking system (ABS) as a standard feature.
Being an automatic version of an existing variant, Celerio ZXi with AMT continues to be powered by the same 1.0 liter K series petrol engine offering 67 bhp peak power and 90 Nm peak torque mated to an AMT delivering 23.1 kmpl. Maruti Suzuki is sourcing the auto gear shift unit from Magneti Marelli.
Key features on board the Celerio ZXi AMT includes driver side airbags, electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering mounted audio controls, audio player with radio, CD, USB, Bluetooth and AUX-in support and body coloured wing mirrors and bumpers. Interiors are seen with remote locking facility, fabric door inserts, outside temperature display, driver seat belt reminder and tilt adjust steering wheel.
Celerio ZXi AMT variant is expected to attract a wider audience despite its higher price. The auto maker expects a 30-40% increase in sales from this automatic variant while the company is also planning AMT versions of the Swift, WagonR and DZire.
