India’s leading car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, has been smashing records after records where sales are concerned. The company emerged as India’s highest-selling car manufacturer for the calendar year 2025 like clockwork and saw a second consecutive year where production exceeded 20 lakh units in a calendar year.
Maruti Suzuki Made 22.5 Lakh Vehicles In CY25
When compared to the 20.63 lakh units manufactured in calendar year 2024, Maruti Suzuki witnessed around 12.5% YoY growth with 22.55 lakh units manufactured in calendar year 2025. Thus clocking 20 lakh+ annual production in a calendar year for second consecutive year with a major growth in volume and market share.

This total annual production number includes domestic sales, international business (exports) and sales to other OEMs (Toyota). To signify how far Maruti Suzuki’s production capabilities has advanced, we can take a look at its past sales records – 19.34 lakh units in CY2023, 19.16 lakh units in CY2022 and 16.29 lakh units in CY2021.
The most prominent vehicles that garnered Maruti Suzuki its record production numbers in calendar year 2025 are Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Ertiga and Dzire. This year, Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch an update to Brezza, making it more appealing than it already is and boost its sales potential immensely.

Maruti Suzuki closed the sales account for 2025 calendar year in style as the company clocked a total of 18,06,515 units. This number is particularly impressive as it was higher than the combined sales of 2nd, 3rd and 4th highest-selling brands combined. We’re talking about Mahindra at 6,25,603 units, Tata with 5,78,772 units and Hyundai with 5,71,878 units, respectively.
India’s Highest PV Exporter for 5th Consecutive Year
While the domestic numbers of calendar year 2025 are rather dominating, Maruti Suzuki’s exports for calendar year 2025 were no less impressive. For starters, the company exported as many as 3.95 lakh units in calendar year 2025 and emerged as India’s No.1 PV exported for 5th consecutive year and even registered a 21% YoY growth over CY2024’s 3.26 lakh units.

In 2025, Maruti Suzuki exported 18 models to over 100 countries. Even the eVitara exports have commenced to global markets, which is Maruti Suzuki’s and Suzuki Global’s first ever fully electric vehicle. As of now, eVitara is exclusively manufactured in India at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant and over 13,000 units have been shipped to as many as 29 countries.
