2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show which opened its doors today for public, has on display the all-new Ignis AMT variant. Being held at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD City, Tangerang, this is the first time Ignis AMT variant has been shown to the public.
The new compact crossover from Suzuki is being displayed along with other India-made cars like Vitara Brezza, S-Cross, Baleno, etc.
In Indonesia, Suzuki Ignis will be offered with a 1.2 liter petrol engine. This engine will be mated to a 5 speed MT or an AMT gearbox. No diesel option will be on offer. The petrol engine is rated at 83 hp and 115 Nm.
In India, Maruti Suzuki Ignis is slated to be launched with a 1.2 liter petrol and 1.3 liter diesel engine. This sub 4 meter crossover will get a K Series petrol engine also seen on the Swift capable of 83 bhp power at 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm. It will also get a 1.3 liter SHVS engine offering 75 PS power and 190 Nm torque.
Manufactured in India, Maruti Suzuki Ignis will have over 95% localization allowing for a highly competitive price tag when launched in early 2017. Pricing is expected to commence from INR 4 lakh, for the base variant and INR 6.8 lakhs for the top end model. On successful launch, Maruti Suzuki Ignis could compete with the likes of Mahindra KUV100.
