Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta gets 7 inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system

Earlier, only the top of the line Alpha variant of Ignis was fitted with the premium feature

Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta variant has been revised with the addition of the seven-inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system. A feature that was limited to Alpha variants. Ignis Zeta variant is available in MT and AMT trims. With the addition of SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, prices now stand hiked by 8.5k. Maruti Ignis Zeta MT is available at a price of Rs 5.98 lakh, and Zeta AMT at Rs 6.45 lakh (ex-sh, Delhi).

Maruti Suzuki Ignis gets power from a 1.2-litre, 4-cyl VVT petrol engine that returns max power of 82bhp and max torque of 113Nm. Transmission choices include five-speed MT, and AMT. AMT was introduced in late 2017. The vehicle was first launch in January 2017.

Ignis is available in Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants. Ignis Zeta MT & AMT variants with Smartplay Studio Infotainment System.are listed at an exact price of Rs. 5,97,820, and Rs. 6,44,820, respectively. The same is effective from today, July 23, 2020. Base variant of Ignis is priced from Rs 4.91 lakhs while top variant costs Rs 7.28 lakhs, ex-sh.

For July 2020, Nexa dealerships have curated benefits for customers. Maruti Ignis purchases are being incentivised with a cash discount of Rs 20,000 for Alpha, Delta, and Sigma variants. The Zeta variant is being offered with a cash discount of Rs 10,000. Exchange bonus ranges between Rs 10,000 – 15,000, depending on variant. Corporate offers entail an additional Rs 5,000 discount.

Maruti Ignis is one of the brand’s newer cars in the Nexa platform, a brand identity that the company introduced in July 2015. A concerted effort was made to introduce a premium experience for all. Today 5 years later, the brand confirms 1.1 million customers.

For June 2020, MSIL reported compact sub-segment (WagonR, Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno, Dzire and Tour S) sales decline of 57.6 per cent, down to 26,696 units from 62,897 units in June 2019.

Earlier in February 2020, Ignis was introduced with a few revisions, with BS6 engine. This include an updated front fascia, new grille, front bumper with faux skid plate, and fog lamp setup. A new seat fabric was used. Dual tone colour option sand new colours were introduced too. In the new scheme of things, the most important was the launch of the BS6 compliant engine, a requirement that had to be fulfilled before April 1, 2020.
