Maruti Suzuki India revealed their sales report for the month of April 2017 today. The company sold a total of 144,492 cars in the domestic market, while 6,723 cars were exported. In all (including 411 units of LCV Super Carry), 151,215 vehicles were produced in the month of April 2017, which is a growth of 19.5% as compared to sales figures registered in the month of April 2016.
Speaking about the company’s domestic sales performance, this is the highest ever sales registered by Maruti Suzuki in a single month. Compared to April 2016, when the company had registered sales of 117,045 units, this is a staggering increase by 23.4%, to register sales of 144,492 units. Below is the detailed sales report.
The compact segment continues to bring in the most sales for the company. Comprising of Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno, DZIRE, and new Dzire Tour, this segment registered sales of 63,584 units as against 45,700 units in April 2016. The second best performing segment for the company was Mini segment which comprises of Alto and WagonR. This segment registered sales of 38,897 units as against 31,906 units sold in the same month last year.
Thanks to Vitara Brezza, the Utility Vehicle segment (comprising of Gypsy, Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza) too continues to post impressive growth. For April 2017, 20,638 units were sold as against 16,044 units sold last year in the same month. Maruti Ciaz in the mid-size segment has posted sales of 7,024 units, as against 5,702 units sold last year. Speaking about exports, the company registered a 29.4% decline which has resulted in sales of 6,723 units for April 2017 as against sales of 9,524 untis registered last year in April.
This month, Maruti Suzuki will be launching the new generation DZire. Showcased last week to the media, this new car is longer, wider, and shorter than the older DZire. It also gets more comfort and technology loaded features on the inside. More details can be found here.
