Kerala resident modifies his Maruti Swift and calls it ‘Godfather’

Among the top hatchbacks in India, Maruti Swift sees outstanding performance in terms of sales. This is because the car comes in at an attractive price and has a highly fuel efficient engine. Even as the car itself is a draw in its original format, some owners have been customizing the car to make it even more attractive.

Already termed as a modification friendly hatchback, buyers are shelling out huge amounts to bring in more updates to the Swift. One owner in Kerala, Roshan Francis has spent close to Rs 10 lakhs on his Maruti Swift diesel and now calls it ‘Godfather”.

Roshan states that the modification job includes Viair air-suspension, custom stainless steel exhaust system, 18″ 10.5 J Emotion R wheels wrapped in 215/35/18 Accelera rubber, NKS body kit & custom skirt extensions.

Custom red paint job, aftermarket headlights and taillamps, Webasto automatic sunroof, Sporty racing seats and interiors, custom wide body kit, Full upgraded music system, Momo racing steering wheel, modified hood and boot door. All this has cost him close to Rs 10 lakhs. Below is his car in images.

Roshan is not the only one in Kerala to have a similar modification job for a Swift. In fact, there is another owner from the state who has done a similar mod job on his Swift. Steven Raju calls his Swift – The Punisher
Raju’s Swift gets a customized front end with smoked projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights. It also receives a black grille with custom design elements and a more aggressive bumper design with extended skirting and L shaped carbon fiber slats. Its exteriors can also be noted with a new front splitter and raised hood adding to its sportiness.

7 spoke custom alloy wheels, flared wheel arches and LED tail lamps along with a new roof spoiler and two round exhausts are also evident. The modified Maruti Suzuki Swift sits on 17” alloy wheels fitted with 215mm Yokohama A-Drive tyres.

As far as modified interiors are concerned, Raju has fitted the Punisher with a Pioneer X5890BT console and Rockford subwoofer. It also gets a more powerful 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine offering a total of 115 bhp power and 240 Nm torque which is 40 bhp and 50 Nm more than the regular version. The engine continues to be mated to a 5 speed transmission.
