Maruti Suzuki India will be increasing vehicle prices by Rs 20,000 from tomorrow, 16th January, 2012 to cope with exchange value pressures. This is the 2nd hike in 4 months in keeping pace with weak rupee value and rising costs. Maruti price hike across cars has not yet been made known but an average increase of 1.5% across models and variants is most likely.
New Maruti Suzuki Wagon R 2013 is available in four variants, 3 petrol and 1 CNG. Wagon R LX comes for a price of Rs 3.58 lakh. While vehicle sales in India have not been increasing by leaps and bounds, General Motors and Hyundai Motor too have had to increase car prices in recent months. At the start of 2013, most auto manufacturers in the country have announced a price increase across their vehicle range.
Volkswagen India is now providing buyers a chance to win a Polo or a Vento in the 13th minute of any hour. 11th edition of Gulf Foster a Child Car Drive from Parel to Khandala ended successfully on the 13th. Aimed at changing people’s outlook, each car crew had a driver, navigator and minimum one child as well as an orphan child. A Tulip Route chart had to be deciphered to reach destination. 51 families participated, and 5 prizes were awarded to winners. Gulf awarded 3 prizes for all-ladies’ teams. Prizes were given for best decorated car and the best dressed team. The theme for the drive decoration was ‘Road Safety’ and ‘Save our trees & wild life’.
Gulf Oil President, Ravi Chawla had this to say, “Every year this event takes place, we feel the energy and exuberance that these kids are filled with. We ensure that every child goes back with happy memories. It gives us a sense of satisfaction to see the participating families and the under privileged children build a bond. That’s the objective of this event, and we are glad to see an increase in the number of participants this year. The Indian arm of Hyosung, Korean motorcycle makers, DSK Motowheels will be launching two new motorbikes tomorrow (January 16, 2013), Hyosung Aquila Pro650 and 2013 G650R. The latter will compete with Ninja 650 in the Indian bike market.
