22 Feb 2015: 2015 Maruti DZire Facelift is to be launched soon. The car has arrived at dealerships (not all), and bookings too have opened. Though Maruti is yet to reveal its official launch date, a few days back price of all variants on offer were leaked. Today, thanks to a leaked photo of Maruti DZire facelift technical specifications, we have the official mileage figures claimed.
As per this leaked photo, 2015 Maruti Swift DZire diesel mileage stands at 26.59 kmpl (about 2.2 kmpl more than current variant). This means it is the most fuel efficient car in the country. As of now, the title belongs to Maruti Ciaz diesel, which claims mileage of 26.21 kmpl, but only till the official launch of DZire facelift. Present version of Maruti DZire delivers mileage of 23.4 kmpl.
Mated to a five speed manual gearbox, the 1.3l DDiS diesel motor churns out 75 PS power at 4000 rpm and 190 Nm torque at 2000 rpm. This means that the power figures are not affected by increase in mileage.
Speaking about the performance figures of petrol motor, the 1.2l 4 cyl mill generates 84.3 PS power at 6200 rpm and 115 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm. This means, the power is decreased from 87 PS, but torque has increased from 114 Nm, as compared to current DZire. Mileage claimed by new DZire petrol variant is 20.85 kmpl for manual transmission and 18.5 kmpl for automatic transmission. Existing DZire petrol MT delivers 19.1 kmpl and AT delivers 17.4 kmpl.
Improving fuel economy across the range, is Maruti’s primary motive. The car maker who was known for selling most fuel efficient cars in the country, lost out to the likes of Honda City, Honda Amaze, Chevrolet Beat diesel, etc. In order to regain the lost rankings in the list of most fuel efficient cars in India, Maruti has done re-engineering of their existing engines. They have managed to achieve better mileage of their cars by tweaking the fuel injection system, remapping ECU, and changing engine oil. The result has already been seen in new Swift and Ciaz.

Expected to be launched on 25th February, dealer dispatches have already commenced from the Manesar plant, where abouut 8000+ units of DZire facelift were spotted in the parking. Once launched, DZire will continue to dominate rivals Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, and Tata Zest.
