The Maruti Swift Glory Edition, latest in the line of the automaker’s never ending streak of limited edition models, have been launched. Based on the VXi/VDi trims, the special edition Swift is priced at INR 5.29 lakhs for the VXi petrol and INR 6.20 lakhs for the VDi diesel variant (prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Enhancements are mostly cosmetic. The Swift Glory Edition comes with contrast red roof, wing mirrors, rear spoiler and body skirts. It also gets twin racing strips and matching side decals. The interior sports dual-tone read-black upholstery with matching floor mats and steering wheel cover.
On the equipment front, the Swift Glory Edition offers a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth and reverse parking assist with camera. Maruti has not revealed the number of units to be sold. We expect the special edition hatchback to be on sale throughout the festive season.
There are no changes to the hardware whatsoever. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 84.3 PS and 115 Nm of torque while the 1.3-litre diesel motor churns out 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque. A 5-speed MT is standard across the range.
With the Swift Glory Special Edition, Maruti is attempting to fend of the newly launched 2015 Ford Figo hatchback.
