A total of seven models from Maruti Suzuki India Limited found place on the list of top 10 passenger vehicles sold in April 2018. M
aruti Suzuki Swift claimed a top spot with 22,776 units sold in April 2018 as compared to 23,802 units sold in the same month of the previous year. Maruti Suzuki DZire took the place of the Alto with 21,401 units sold, a notable increase in sales as compared to 8,606 units sold in April 2017.
Alto hatchback, which was in No. 2 position in April 2017 with 22,549 units sold, slipped to No. 3 position with 21,233 units sold.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno and WagonR at No. 4 and No 5 respectively saw sales to the tune of 20,412 and 16,561 respectively in April 2018 as against a No 3 and No 4 position in April 2017 with sales of 17,350 and 16,348 respectively.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited also had Vitara Brezza and Celerio on the list of top 10 passenger cars sold in April 2018 at No. 8 and No. 9 with 10,818 and 9,631 units sold as compared to 10,653 and 8,425 units sold in April 2017 when they were at No. 7 and No. 10 positions.
Hyundai Motors India Limited found Hyundai Elite i20, Grand i10 and Creta on this list at No.6, No. 7 and No. 10 respectively. 12,369 units of Elite i20 were sold during the past month as compared to 12,668 units sold during April 2017.
Grand i10 saw sales of 12,174 units in April 2018 as compared to 12,001 sold in the same month of the past year while Hyundai Creta sales stood at 9,390 units as against sales of 9,312 units in April 2017.
