Maruti Ciaz launch nears: Discounts on SX4 cross Rs 1 lakh

Noting decreased demand for existing models and eager to bring in new and facelifted models, auto companies in India are offering handsome discounts to clear stocks. Leading the list is Maruti Suzuki India’s SX4 sedan, whose production has already been discontinued as the company gears up for launch of new Ciaz.

Maruti SX4 discountsDecreased demand, piling stocks and the introduction of fresh and facelifted models is what has pushed auto companies in India to offer hefty discounts. Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Volkswagen and Hyundai have announced discounts varying from INR 65,000 to INR 1.17 lakhs on various outgoing models.

With the new Maruti Ciaz set to add more excitement to the company lineup, the company is offering a cash discount of upto INR 50,000 and exchange bonus of INR 35,000 besides excise benefits of INR 32,000 thus resulting in a total saving of INR 1.17 lakhs. Maruti Ciaz is expected to be launched in the coming months before Diwali. Ciaz will replace SX4 and thus the company aims to clear existing stocks before the new Ciaz is launched.

Tata Motors also gears up for a slew of new launches and is hence eager to clear stocks of the Tata Vista, Indigo and Nano. The new generation Vista is also on its way in and the company is offering free insurance for first three years on the Vista which works out to INR 52,000 besides an exchange bonus of INR 30,000 taking total savings to INR 82,000.

July 15, 2014 marks the date when the new Polo facelift will be launched. To clear out current models, dealers are offering discounts of INR 55,000 and an additional exchange bonus of INR 20,000, thus making total savings go upto INR 75,000.

Hyundai Motors is also resorting to cash discounts and exchange offers with the new i20 hatchback even as the next generation i20 has been announced. Here, the discounts are to the tune of INR 67,000 which includes a cash discount of INR 20,000 in addition to excise discounts of INR 27,000 and exchange bonus of INR 20,000.
