To rival the likes of Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300, the new Maruti Vitara Brezza will be launched in the sub-compact SUV segment. Showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo earlier this month, the car is all-set for official launch in India by March/April 2016.
The new Brezza has been designed in India by a team headed by CV Raman, MSI Executive Director – Research and Development. It is the first ever Maruti Suzuki car which has not only been made in India but also has been created in India, righted from the first design sketches to the end product which you see now.
Boasting of 98 percent localization, contributing to its affordable pricing, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will be offered in a total of 6 variants – LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, and ZDi+. Initially, the Brezza will be presented exclusively with a 1.3 liter four cylinder DDiS diesel engine offering 88.5 bhp power at 4,000rpm and 200 Nm torque at 1,750 rpm mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. A petrol engine could be introduced later.
Maruti Vitara Brezza measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width and 1,640 mm in height, while it sports a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. On board features on the base variant includes power steering, power windows, central locking while dual front airbags, ABS, EBD are optional. Set to go on sale through regular Maruti Suzuki dealerships in India and not at NEXA dealers, the new Vitara Brezza will also be making its way to markets of Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
