According to our dealer sources, the Maruti Vitara Brezza compact crossover has been receiving fabulous response from customers ever since it was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo earlier this month. The enquiries are pouring in at a brisk rate.
One dealer told us that the response for the Vitara Brezza is almost as good as what the Swift had managed at the time of its launch. It’s to be noted that certain dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the car at INR 21,000. Going by the initial response, Maruti’s first ever homegrown product looks set to become one of the most successful launches in the company’s recent history.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza is based on a platform that derives most of the critical components from the time proven Swift. The sub-4 m SUV will be available only with a diesel engine at the time of launch but Maruti is developing a petrol variant which is expected to be launched later this year.
The 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine has 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque in store. The 5-speed manual transmission drives the front wheels. The car is estimated to have an ARAI certified fuel efficiency in the 20-25 kmpl region.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza is scheduled to go on sale in the third week of March.
