The Maruti Vitara Brezza compact crossover SUV which is aimed at the promising sub-4 metre SUV segment is getting ready to be launched in the third week of March. The automaker is hoping that the first homegrown product will go on to become a top seller in the segment right away.
The Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 rival features a fresh exterior design with a proper SUV stance. The dashboard design is half new and half familiar (especially elements like steering wheel, gear lever, etc.).
Based on a platform that borrows heavily from the Swift, the Vitara Brezza will be available with a lone diesel engine. The 1.3-litre DDiS 200 (Fiat MultiJet) mill produces 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission drives the front wheels. Maruti is working on a petrol variant which is expected to be launched later this year.
In line with Maruti’s recent variant lineup revision, even the base variant of the car can be had with ABS, EBD and dual airbags. The fully loaded variant will offer projector headlamps, daytime running lights, fog lights, alloy wheels, contrast roof finish, automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and much more.
