The eagerly anticipated Maruti Vitara Brezza has been launched in India at a starting price of INR 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Vitara is the first product by Maruti Suzuki to be receive full homologation certificate from iCAT and is also the first ever model to be fully developed in India by the company.
Showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo last month, the Ford EcoSport rival derives plenty of its components from the popular Swift and Dzire in order to keep the development cost and lead time at bay. While the exterior design with upright pillars and SUV like stance feels fresh, the interior gets equal mix of new and familiar elements.

The equipment list of the fully loaded variant includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, projector headlamps, fog lights, alloy wheels, touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control system, power windows, contrast colored roof and pillar, reverse parking camera and so on. Passenger airbag is standard standard across all the variants.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza is available only with a diesel engine as of now (petrol variant is under works). The Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre DDiS 200 mill which is being used by several other Maruti cars has added another model to its credit. The oil burner generates 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque when mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Drive is sent to the front wheels.
