Maruti Vitara Brezza spied before 2016 Auto Expo launch

Maruti Vitara Brezza is a new compact SUV which was first showcased as XA Alpha concept at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. Currently, Maruti Suzuki is performing the final tests before launching the car on 3rd February 2016, at their stall in Delhi Auto Expo.

To be launched in the sub 4 meter segment, the Vitara Brezza was spotted near their plant in Manesar. To be powered by same set of engines which power the new Baleno, diesel Vitara Brezza gets 1.3 liter DDiS engine generating 75 PS, while petrol Brezza gets a 1.2 liter K Series petrol engine generating 85 PS.

Transmission will be in the form of 5 speed gearbox as standard, but it could also receive of AMT or an automatic transmission. Apart from that, Vitara Brezza could also get Maruti’s latest SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle System) technology that made its debut on the Ciaz SHVS.

Exterior features on board Brezza will include a vertical slat grille sporting the Suzuki badge, small headlamps with LED DRLs and rounded fog lamps. On the inside, it will be seen in all black interiors with silver accents. It will get a multi function steering wheel, SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control. A host of safety features will include airbags, anti lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution. It also gets keyless entry, push button start/stop feature.

Spied on test at the Delhi’s NCR area, the sub 4 meter Maruti Vitara Brezza will be sold through company dealerships and not through NEXA outlets. Once officially launched in India, it will face competition from the Mahindra TUV300 and Ford EcoSport. One can expect pricing of the Brezza to be in the range of INR 5.5 lakhs and INR 8. lakh.
