Maruti Vitara Brezza is India’s best-selling UV for Apr-Aug 2016

81 yr old Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India, and a Padma Bhushan recepient, Mr. R C Bhargava has revealed that the response to Vitara Brezza has been beyond expectation. And why not.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza compact SUV has seen outstanding demand ever since launch on 8th March 2016. Bookings crossed the 1.2 lakh mark, while waiting period now stands at anything between 7-10 months.

As on date, Maruti Vitara Brezza is the highest selling utility vehicle in India, reveals SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures). Top end variants ZDi and ZDi+ are in higher demand which can be due pricing the product aggressively.

For the period between April to August 2016, Maruti Vitara Brezza sales stood at 41,484 units, while that of Hyundai Creta stood at 39,088 units followed by Toyota Innova at 35,693 units, Mahindra Bolero at 22,673 and Ford EcoSport at 21,564.

It is due to this increased demand that the company plans increased production of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza to the tune of 10,000 units per month or 1.2 lakh units per annum from the earlier capacity of just 85,000 units per annum.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is powered by a 200 DDis 1248 cc engine offering 88.5 bhp power at 4000 rpm and 200Nm torque at 1750 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. The first model of the company to be wholly designed, developed and validated in India, the Brezza is offered in LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, ZDi+ and ZDi+ variants.

In the coming months, Maruti Suzuki will be launching new variants of the Brezza which will be in the form of 1.2 liter petrol powered units with manual transmission as well as AMT. This variant was showcased recently at the 2016 GIIAS, and can be seen in the images below.
