Maruti vs Hyundai Car Discounts July 2020 – WagonR vs Santro, Swift vs i10, Baleno vs i20

Exciting car discount offers are available across the country – by all car brands

Maruti happens to be the leading OEM in the country with an enviable market share. However, there are certain segments in which Hyundai gives it a tough fight. While in certain segments like entry-level hatchback, Maruti is the undisputed champion (thanks to Alto, WagonR), there are some segments in which models from Maruti and Hyundai pose significant competition to each other.

When sales slow down, additional schemes and offers are proven artillery which Sales & Marketing folks plan to deploy. With overall monthly sales falling considerably from pre-Corona times, both Maruti and Hyundai have rolled out lucrative schemes and offers to woo potential customers. Here is a segment-wise analysis on various discounts on offer by the two OEMs.

Wagon R and Santro compete with each other and in July’20, both Maruti & Hyundai have rolled out discounts to make their vehicles more attractive. Wagon R buyers get 10K cash discount and 20K exchange bonus whereas Santro customers get 25K cash discount and 15K exchange bonus.

Hyundai’s Grand i10 competes with the Ignis from Nexa. Offers on Grand i10 include 40K cash discount along with a 15K exchange bonus. Ignis customers can get upto 20K in cash discount and 15K in exchange bonus.

In the next segment, the Japanese and South Korean giants compete with their Swift and Grand i10 Nios, respectively. Swift customers can get benefits of up to 15K cash discount and 20K exchange bonus whereas Grand i10 Nios buyers get 10K cash discount and 10K exchange bonus.

In the sub 4 metre sedan segment, Maruti and Hyundai lock horns via Dzire and Aura. Discounts on Dzire amount up to 10K in cash and 25K in exchange bonus whereas discounts on Aura are limited to just 15K in the form of exchange bonus.

Baleno and Elite i20 have been competing with each other since years. Interestingly both Maruti and Swift are offering similar amount of discounts on Baleno and Elite i20. The discounts are in the form of 15K cash discount and 15K exchange discount.

Zero Discounts

In the sub 4 metre SUV segment, Maruti’s Brezza gets 20K exchange bonus while Hyundai’s Venue gets no added benefits for customers. The case is similar in the mid sized sedan segment, where Nexa’s Ciaz gets a cash discount of 10K and 20K exchange bonus whereas there are no such offers on the 2020 Verna.

The second generation Creta has already had a fantastic start and is currently having a wait-list for buyers. Unsurprisingly, Hyundai is offering no discounts on the Creta. In the meanwhile, Maruti is busy preparing itself for the launch of the S-Cross Petrol via which it intends to compete with the likes of Creta and Seltos.
