Over the last few months, Maruti car sales are on a decline. Almost all popular Maruti cars are registering heavy decline in sales. Sales of Alto, Swift, Dzire and Baleno have declined by 45%. But there is one car which is going strong on sales. And it is Maruti Ertiga.
Sales of Ertiga have doubled, as compared to the older Ertiga. From selling an average of 4k units a month, the new Ertiga is now registering sales of over 8k units a month. Seeing this huge demand for Ertiga, Maruti will launch a new premium MPV based on Ertiga, called XL6.
Maruti Suzuki XL6, the company’s next launch derives much from the Ertiga MPV. It will feature leather captain seats for comfort. This means ample space, armrests and creature comforts for a relaxed experience. This could be a plus point for long rides that require being seated for long depending on how plush the captain seats are.
Toyota Innova and Mahindra Marazzo MPVs feature captain seats. The former is a distinguished inter city cab preference owing to the comfort and space it offers. XL6 features a 6-seater layout. The middle row now sees two-captain seats instead of the Ertiga bench seat layout.
As per the company, XL6 sports an aggressive front chrome grille flanked by LED DRLs. The design language is meant to make a statement. Quad-LED headlamps refer to the four reflector chambers in each light unit, giving the impression of all-white LED headlamps. The endgame is bright and focused lighting.
Style inputs include stone finish interiors/garnish, and silver accents matched with all-black interiors. XL6 is being retailed at Nexa outlets, and goes on sale on August 21, 2019. Orderbooks have been open since last week. Booking can be done at the Nexa dealer outlet, or via Maruti Nexa website.
Maruti’s Ertiga-based XL6 MPV is available in six colours – Metallic Premium Silver, Metallic Magma Gray, Prime Auburn Red, Pearl Brave Khaki, Pearl Arctic White, and Nexa Blue. Maruti XL6 is being offered in two petrol trims – Alpha and Zeta. Both of which are offered in manual and automatic transmission.
