Maserati Levante Trofeo, the super-SUV, has been confirmed for launch in India. Though the regular version is already on sale in the country, the Trofeo is top of the line performance SUV. New Maserati Levant Trofeo comes in with better appeal and luxury and definitely higher performance and is what the company calls the ‘Ultimate Maserati of SUVs’.
Maserati Levante Trofeo will come in with a sharper looking front grille as compared to that seen on the standard Levante. This front grille sports double vertical bars in a piano black finish and lower honeycomb mesh fascia. It will also receive full Matrix LED headlights, bonnet vents, carbon fiber inserts at the rear and side skirts, all of which combine to enhance its aggressive appeal and relate to better aerodynamics.
The Trofeo Levante sits on 22” forged aluminum alloy wheels which are the largest to be seen on any Maserati car. Other performance enhancing updates include a lower splitter, side blades on the front air intakes and a new hood with twin air intakes.
The interiors are seen in color options of red, black and tan natural leather upholstered sports seats with “Torfeo” badging. This is “Peeno Fiore” leather which is used for the seating which is natural and soft offering optimum comfort to occupants.
There is also extensive use of carbon fiber seen around the cabin while in terms of infotainment, the Maserati Levante Trofeo boasts of a 1280 watt, 17 speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround audio system along with a touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Torfeo is also seen with Corsa driving mode with launch control and 50:50 weight distributions.
Maserati Levante Trofeo will be powered by a 3.8 liter Twin Turbo V8 petrol engine which is produced by Ferrari in Maranello. The engine offers 590 hp at 6,250 rpm and 730 Nm of peak torque at 2,250 – 5,000 rpm. This engine gets mated to a Q4 Intelligent All Wheel Drive system and allows for acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.9 seconds and only 34.5 meters of braking distance to complete stop while it can reach a top speed of 300 kmph.
Maserati Levante Trofeo enters production at the refurbished Maserati plant in Mirafiori, Turin, Italy. It makes its way to India which is the first market to receive right hand drive units of the Trofeo and will compete with other luxury SUVs in the segment that include the BMW X5 M, the Range Rover Sport SVR and Mercedes-AMG GLE 63.
