Matthew Hayden launches Mahindra XUV500 AT in Australia

Mahindra XUV500 AT Australia launch

Deliveries are set to commence in May.

The Mahindra XUV500 AT has been launched in Australia by iconic cricketer Matthew Hayden. The automatic crossover is available in W8 2WD and W8 4WD variants with the prices start at AUD 31,000 (around INR 15.65 lakhs).

The 6-speed automatic transmission which is sourced from AISIN of Japan is mated to the 2.2-litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine which produces 140 bhp at 3,750 rpm and 330 Nm of torque between 1,600 rpm and 2,800 rpm. The motor is also available with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. The auto variants have a claimed fuel consumption of 7.4L/100 km (13.51 kmpl).

The 6-speed automatic transmission is sourced from Japanese auto comp major AISIN.

Deliveries of the automatic XUV500 in Australia will this commence month. Commenting on the launch, Mahesh Kaskar, National Manager of Mahindra Ag & Auto Australia, stated that the automatic variants will be game changers in Mahindra’s automotive operations in Australia.

The car will be imported into Australia as CBU.

The 7-seat SUV packs in standard features such as leather seats, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, AC vents for all three rows, ISOFIX child seat mounts, cooled front armrest storage box, wireless tyre pressure monitoring system, LED ambient lighting, multiple airbags, ESC with rollover protection, ABS with EBD, hill hold and hill descent control, projector headlamps with static bending lamps and LED daytime running lights and a 70-litre fuel tank.
