Mazda Vision Coupe Concept at 2017 Tokyo Motor Show

Mazda Vision Coupe Concept at Tokyo Motor Show on display along with the Kia Concept is the latest offering from Mazda to demonstrate its new design language.  It is a sporty looking sedan with a coupe like roofline. It can be seen as a stylish four door model with an aggressive exterior design dominated by a massive front grille, a sloping roof line, panoramic glass roof and hidden door handles. It gets a four tail sports exhaust system and metallic accents that add to its sporty appeal.

The side panels are designed to augment the play of light and shadow and this eliminates the pretense of any deep contours and sharp design line creases. The seamless exterior looks to harmonise the interplay of motion and reflection. Mazda Vision Coupe Concept is the most sleek car we set eyes on at the auto show. It’s large imposing presence is downplayed in its sleek demeanor. But you get a true sense of car by simply walking around the vehicle.

Interiors of Mazda Vision Coupe Concept are similar to the Kia Concept and done up in premium leather upholstery with wood accents. The massive steering wheel and infotainment system spans most of the dashboard. The central console receives touch sensitive features bringing up information at the touch of a button and interiors are spacious with a feeling of connection to the outside world. The central console, door trim and instrument panel intersect each other creating a sense of ‘ma’ – space inside the vehicle. Interior spacing too is opulent to say the least.

With lack of any engine or powertrain specifications, it indicates that the Mazda Vision Coupe, which is heavily influenced by the RX-Vision concept from the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, is likely to remain only a concept but is Mazda’s design vision for next-generation models.
