McLaren 650S GT3 unveiled at Goodwood FoS

British sports car maker, McLaren revealed the first official details of 650S GT3 at Goodwood Festival of Speed today. To be powered by the same 3.8l bi-turboed engine of the 650S, the GT3 variant comes with improved safety, cooling and handling.

Ready to fill some big shoes, McLaren says 650S GT3 is a worthy successor to MP4 12C GT3, which has won 3 championship titles, 51 wins, and 71 podiums. McLaren MP4 12C GT3 is currently leading GT Asia Championship and Blancpain Endurance Series.

Expected to be priced at £330,000 (Rs 3.37 crores or $561,708) excluding taxes, only 15 examples will be built. Compared to the standard 650S, the GT3 features larger air intakes, aggressive splitter and carbon fiber wraps on the body.

McLaren 650S GT3 7 rearOn the inside, you have more headroom and legroom as compared to the 12C GT3, thanks to the larger roll cage, which is also FIA approved. Fitted with state of the art race seats, 650S GT3 power output matches that of 12C GT3 at 493 hp.
