German tuning company Hamann Motorsports founded by Richard Hamann in 1986 is well versed in tuning of Lamborhgini’s and Porsche’s, with many innovative projects under its belt. The company has now taken the McLaren MP4-12C and given it a colorful makeover which is sure to attract a fair amount of attention on the road.
Hamann’s McLaren MP4-12C “memoR” is seen in all the colors of the rainbow and is looked upon as an exquisite work of art. This is only where its external body is concerned while internally it possesses the same wide body kit, massive rear wing, LED daytime lights, carbon front spoiler and redesigned rear bumper with three tailpipes.
A new set of wheels are seen on the colorful model which includes one set of 21” ultra light aluminum wheels with 255/30 ZR 21 tyres at the front and 355/25 ZR 21 tyres at the rear. Prices commence from $122,000 excluding taxes (and the MP4-12C) and vary as per customer’s choices where interior accessories are concerned which are being offered separately as an option.
McLaren has confirmed that they will be bringing out just 30 examples of their powerful 12C GT CAN-AM which was earlier seen at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance earlier this year. This limited edition model will be bought out in honor of Bruce McLaren and Denny Hulme who have successfully raced in the CAN-AM Series and won a series of championships together for Bruce McLaren Racing.
This super powerful vehicle will be fitted with a 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine offering enhanced power output of 630 hp. Where looks are concerned, these limited edition models will be seen with improved carbon fiber rear wing enabling higher downforce aerodynamic package to the tune of 30% extra. Carbon fiber components also carry on differentiating 12C from GT racing version. Carbon fiber door mirrors, engine cover vents, side radiator intakes, sill covers and badges are what contribute to lower overall weight of the vehicle which also sports lightweight racing allow wheels with Pirelli racing tyres.
Interiors are seen with two black racing sears with six point harnesses while a McLaren GT steering wheel carried over from the GT3 makes its way into this limited edition as well. Limited to no more than 30 cars, each of these 12C CAN-AM Edition models will be priced at £375,000 and will be produced from the McLaren GT, Woking plant from March 2013.
